      Overview

      Under the direction of Table Games trainers, dealer school trainees will attend a 6-10 week course to learn how to deal BlackJack, Three Card Poker, Texas Hold'em, and possibly other card dealing games.

      Responsibilities

      DEALER TRAINEE GUIDELINES

      • Must be able to pass a basic math assessment
      • No prior experience required
      • Training is paid, with scheduling to be coordinated with your existing work schedule. Available training classes are:
      • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday
      • 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM OR
      • 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
      • Upon completion of training, trainees must successfully pass an audition to be eligible for transfer
      • Excessive absence and tardiness to dealer school may result in removal from dealer school

      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AS A TABLE GAMES DEALER (UPON SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF TRAINING & LICENSING):

      (These functions are intended as a general illustration of the work performed in this job classification and are not all inclusive for this position)

          • Performs the functions of a Table Games Dealer on an assigned shift
          • Responsible for dealing an assigned game in accordance with established policy and procedures
          • Creates an atmosphere for guests to make Hard Rock their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members in order to provide superior guest service.
          • Provides game security and protects Company assets by facing games at all times and being able to recreate bets/situations when necessary.
          • Responsible for handling all monies (bankrolls, payoffs, come and prop bets, making change and check handling) accurately in games.
          • Able to verbalize all aspects of the game including answering questions in regard to other games and the property.

      Qualifications

      EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

      (Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)

      High School Diploma required.

      ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):

      • Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Illinois Gaming Commission.
      • Must successfully pass background check.
      • Must successfully pass drug screening.
      • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.
      • Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts.

      KNOWLEDGE OF:

      • Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
      • Hard Rock operations.
      • Policies and procedures as well as knowledge of and ability to identify various cheating techniques.

      ABILITY TO:

      • Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
      • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
      • Be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
